WHAT IS RICA?

The Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (RICA) is a law that makes it compulsory for everyone in South Africa to register their cellphone number.

WHAT ARE RICA DOCUMENTS?

This includes a clear copy of your ID and Proof of residence ( not older than three months).

RICA REQUIREMENTS

By law, all SIM card owners need to be RICA’d. So when you do your online application please ensure that you have a clear copy of your ID and proof of address, and that it can be uploaded. You will need to upload all your documents before you can proceed, even to port your existing number.

DELIVERY OF SIM CARDS

Your SIM card will be couriered to you within 1-10 days. Please provide a copy of your ID or have your ID handy for when your courier parcel is being delivered. You will also be able to track your order from your online profile.

PRODUCT OFFERING

BeMobile only has one competitive mobile pricing model for its prepaid SIM cards, there are also contracts available for phones with generous Cash Back options. WHAT ARE THE CASH BACK THAT IS MENTIONED ON THE CONTRACTS PHONES?

Each contract phone will receive an upfront Cash Back which can be redeemed as airtime or in any of the other options. Since your Cash Back does not expire, you can use this Cash Back over the period of the phone contract or how you choose. Each Contract phone will also come with a Sim Card pack. This deal is great for scholars, where parents can manage airtime usage.

START UP COSTS

There is a once off fee for the Sim Card Pack, this will include the first months club fees, free delivery and any port charges ( if required ). Your account may also be pre- loaded with predetermined airtime amount.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COSTS

There is only the R30 monthly club fee that will allow you to use your Cash Back and access to the online shop. This is paid via a recurring monthly debit collection from your preselected debit or credit card.

TRIPLE SIM

Each SIM card can be used either as a Standard SIM ( 15x25mm), Micro SIM (12x15mm) or Nano SIM ( 8.8 x 12.3mm). The SIM that will be delivered to you can be used in any of these three formats.

AETAS DEBIT CARD

Every new client will also be issued with an Aetas debit card. The debit card can only be used if you have converted your Cash Back onto your card. This debit card can also only be used at participating stores. A list of these stores will be available on the website. There will be an ever increasing list of stores from which you can use Aetas debit card and by registering onto our mailing list or by “Liking” our Facebook page, you will be kept informed of new listed stores.

YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT

Your online account will allow you to review or manage your Cash Back, track your order as well as manage your online profile.

WHAT ARE OUR PREPAID RATES?

Our standard prepaid rates are R1,79 per minute on a per second billing basis,  R179 will buy you 100 minutes.

However

By being part of the loyalty program, you immediately receive 100% cash back that reduce the rates to 89.5c per minute.

And

The more free cash back you use from non mobile expenses, the more airtime and data is available to you.

If you add say R100 cash back that you had received, for free, and from non mobile spend to your normal R100 mobile spend.  Then the you would be able to receive 167 minutes of airtime for just R100 or 59.7c per minute. *(see below how we got to this)

The more cash back you use, the more artime you get, the cheaper each minute becomes. Receive cash back from everyday spend and this gives you more airtime for what you paid for.

You could even talk for free and never actually buy airtime.  Just use the cash back received from non mobile purchases.

*(Your airtime purchase of R100 plus the 100% free cash back from that purchase plus the R100 from non mobile spend.  So R300 buys you 167 minutes at R1.79 per minute. By only paying R100 for airtime, you were able to received 167 minutes or 59.7c / minute.)

POSTPAID RATES?

BeMobile only has has one simple prepaid offering, However, by using your free cash back as airtime and data, our prepaid offering can become attractive to those on postpaid and are looking to save on their monthly spend.

  • R45 buys you 300MB, (15c/MB)

You will  need to buy airtime first, through Payfast, then convert your airtime via #140 into data. Compare our data rates to other prepaid options.  And remember you can get more free data using your cash back.

By using cash back from non mobile spend, you can also receive more data.  BeMobile’s loyalty program allows you to receive free cash back, which can give you 2, 3, 4, or more time more data that what was paid for.  Therefore reducing data rates to below contract rates.

OUT OF BUNDLE RATES?

Out-of-Bundle charges are rates that are charged for when your data bundle runs out.

Out-of-Bundle charges range from 3 to 40 times the bundled rates. Imaging having to pay R1.00 for a 1GB.

BeMobile is the first network not to charge out of bundle fee (OOB) at all.

Once you have reached your cap, you will need to buy more airtime to continue.

HOW LONG WILL MY DATA BE VALID FOR?

Your data is valid for 30 days from date of purchase, no matter the size of data bundle purchased.

When legislation is changed as to the retention period, then BeMobile will have it changed accordingly.

However our data bundle are very cost effective, so even our smaller bundle rates may turn out to be cheaper than other operator larger bundles. So go for our smaller bundle, so not to lose your data after the 30 days have passed.

WHAT ARE SMS RATES AND ARE THERE ANY FREE SMS's?

Aetas does not provide for any free or bundle SMS’s, the cost for each SMS’s is R0.50.

WHAT IS A CREDIT LIMIT?

This is a pre-paid Sim card. Therefore it has no credit limits. It is simple, no massive shock bills for Out-of-Bundle charges, EVER.

HOW DO I PURCHASE MORE AIRTIME.

Login to your online profile, purchase from one of the pre-set amounts. You will be required to use your debit or credit card to facilitate the purchase. Once the airtime has been purchased, your phone will be updated with the purchased amount, all within one to three minutes.

You can also use your built up Cash Back balance to buy more airtime.

HOW LONG WILL MY AIRTIME BE VALID FOR?

You can purchase as much airtime as you want and there is no limit to how much you can buy and it will not expire. However you are required to do at least one airtime purchase every 90 days, or else the SIM card will go into a soft lock.

WHAT TO DO IF MY PHONE IS SOFT LOCKED?

If the account has not received a top up in 90 days, it will be soft locked. Contact Aetas who will assist you to unlock your phone.

ITEMISED BILLING AND STATEMENT CHARGES?

As all accounts are prepaid, there are no itemised billing options available. Check your airtime balances by selecting #140

INTERNATIONAL ROAMING

It allows you to remain connected on your current phone number whilst outside of South Africa. Please contact Aetas before intending to use your phone while on an international trip.

NETWORK COVERAGE

Aetas Mobile uses Cell C’s network, and there partnership with Vodacom for coverage. Select here for a link to their coverage website.

If you are struggling with connectivity, switch your roaming between teh two networks for best reception.  There are no additional costs in doing so.

DELIVERY COSTS

A single fixed delivery charge is charged for every order, so multiple items ordered will be covered by this single fee.

STOLEN SIM CARD

Report your lost phone and/or SIM to the AETAS Mobile before reporting it to the Police. Send an e-mail to support@aetas.co.za and request that your Sim be blacklisted. Once you have received the blacklist confirmation, then report the lost SIM to the nearest or convenient Police station. Take your ID, phone serial number and blacklist reference number with you to the Police. If your phone is insured, you will need a Police case reference number to submit a claim for the lost phone.

You can’t transfer airtime to another phone.

CARRY AIRTIME FORWARD

Your airtime will be carried over monthly as long as you top up your phone with at least one payment every 90 days.

Out of Bundle fees (OOB) are fees charged by the networks, when your data bundle has been depleted, to continue using data.  OOB are usually higher than than data bundle rates.  And it is every network prerogative to charge different rates for OOB data.

BeMobile does not charge OOB fees at all.  So you will need to top up your data when it has been used up, but no stage will yor airtime airtime be used to supplement your data shortfall.

BeMobile is the only network to have removed OOB fees altogether

BeMobile has a prepaid offering only, however we do offer Mobile phones with 24 month terms, but instead providing a monthly allocation of airtime and data, we allocate a decent amount of cash back for you, which you will need to manage by yourself and over the period of the contract.

For example, some phones come with R10,000 cash back.  So if you use R358 of this cash back, per month, it will be enough for 100 minutes and 1GB, for almost 28 months.

This is great for students, where parents can manage there airtime from the family profile.

As a loyalty club member, you can still purchase airtime, and receive 100% cash back on this and all online purchases.

If you wish to include the JetMobile as part of your loyalty package, just apply for this through your online profile.

Create a group by ordered new or ported sims from your profile.

This will allow you to have a dashboard to manage all the the cash back from all the sims through just this one profile.  However you can only have one logon ID, but the benefits are that all cash back received from all the online purchases are accumulated under one this profile.

Parents, Companies or any small group can benefit from this.  Manage the purchase of airtime from one portal and also distribute the free cash back where needed.

All debit & credit cards are automatically enrolled for 3D secure, but not all cards are automatically activated for this secured payment.

Not all payment portals require 3D Secure for processing, so you might not be aware that you not activated for this function.

The only way to remedy this, is to either go to into your bank, or activate it through your own bank profile.

The loyalty club fee required a non binding monthly fee to be paid.  Capitec Global one card does not allow for recurring debit orders to come off the card.

Therefore, in order to do the manual payment, select the once off or Instant EFT options.  You will also receive a monthly invoice for the R30 or R90 membership fee via e-mail, on receipt of this invoice, do the manual payment for membership fee.

In order to benefit from the free rewards, all your membership fees need to be up to date.

Each profile has one dashboard.  From this dashboard, you recharge your airtime, manage your cash back and track your orders.

Groups of sim cards can be managed from one dashboard. By ordering additional sims from your profile, all cash back rewards will then be grouped under this profile.  Manage this grouped cash back to the various sims as and when required.
